Recent FPC Worship Services

May 8th - 4th Sunday of Easter - "Tensions"

Jesus tells us often "Do not be afraid." However, there are anxieties in our lives. How do we be at peace with these tensions? In this week's readings, we get some pointers.

May 1st - 3rd Sunday of Easter - "Really Thin Spaces"

Those close encounters with Jesus Christ.

April 24 - 2nd Sunday of Easter - "Revealing Christ to Those who Have Not Heard"

Come hear Andy Christofferson speak to his work in Asia bringing the Good News of Christ to those who have never heard it.

April 17 Easter! - "All Bets Are Off!"

Christ is risen, risen indeed!!  The unimaginable has occurred, death is overcome!  Come join us in celebrating God's gifts of mercy, love, and life!

April 15- Good Friday

Come join us in worship as we finish our 40 day journey with Christ, through trials, mockery, beatings, carrying a cross, and standing with him as he hangs from his cross at Golgotha.

April 14 Maundy Thursday- "How Can I Repay?"

At this Maundy Thursday meal, when Jesus chooses to show the full extent of his love, the question arises: "How can I repay the Lord?"

April 10 - "You Read That Right, a Colt"

Mark is usually has the shortest version of the gospel stories, but on Palm Sunday Luke gives us a more subtle look at Jesus entry into Jerusalem - and the God he reveals in the process.

April 3 - "Our Vagus Nerve"

God, speaking through Isaiah, tells us to "Forget the former things; do not dwell in the past."   The Apostle Paul says "Whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ."  In John we have a different slant on Mary and Martha at a diner party, with Mary anointing  Jesus' feet with expensive myrrh - usually used in preparing the dead.  Do you have worries about the past?  Anxieties about the future.  Do you?  Let's look at our Vagus nerve!

March 27 - "Coming Clean"

This Sunday we will be looking to Psalm 32, 2 Corinthians 5, and Luke 15 about repentance.  We distort, if not truly harm,  our relationships with what we keep hidden.  It is time to "come clean" with others, especially those we love.

March 20 - "Soul Food"

There are those occasions where the Lectionary readings line up with We are told to come eat and drink with no cost.  How is this possible?  Remember,  God doesn't think as we do, and God's ways differ from our ways.
