  Senior Pastor

Rev. Scott Wipperman
Rev. Scott Wipperman is a self-described builder and fixer of many things.  He enjoys improving things and making them work better in addition to a passion for creativity and humor.  As pastor, Scott relies on all of these traits on a daily basis.

Scottís journey to becoming Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church has taken many twists and turns.  He received his calling later in life after having successful careers in computer science, where he worked for Hewlett-Packard and Novell, and serving as a financial planner.

Godís plan for Scott was to continue helping individuals, but in a very different way.  He took up the calling and attended Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.  He is continuing his education working on a Doctorate of Ministry, in a Theology track.
Since his ordination in 2008, Scott has been helping churches through transition as an interim pastor.  He has served as interim pastor for churches in Salt Lake City and in Athens, Texas.  He received his calling to Helena in 2013.

Scott is married to his wife Merilee, and they have seven grown children and 14 grandchildren.  He loves the Montana outdoor lifestyle, particularly hiking, biking and skiing.  He also enjoys woodworking, and attempts to cook and play the guitar when time allows (generally not simultaneously).  You can catch his act in the Praise Band (he is the bass guitar player).

Scott focuses on what God is calling us to do rather than what we should avoid.   Come by and meet Scott!
